Suspension

Do I need a suspension revalve?

  • Suspension revlaves are NOT a requirement, however it is HEAVILY SUGGESTED. At some point in time, Ride JBI has tested, tuned, and developed settings for the large majority of dirt bikes released in the past 20 years. We strongly feel there is performance potential being left on the table with stock suspension valving/hard parts. With JBI Spec Suspension, we can achieve a smoother ride over small to medium bumps, increased hold up during aggressive riding, and better bottoming resistance when you go big. 

What JBI Spec valving is best for me?

  • Ride JBI is very well versed in all of the various types of motorcycle riding and has a slew of options to chose from. The style of suspension damping that is BEST FOR YOU is heavily dependent upon the type of riding you are encountering. Please refer to our JBI Suspension Revalve Chart below.

What is better? Air or Spring?

The JBI Spec WP AER48 Pro Fork DIY Kit/Revalve Service is a great cost effective upgrade that is a noticeable improvement. Compared to stock the JBI Spec setup will be smoother over bumps (more comfortable), better hold during aggressive riding, and better bottoming resistance during jumps and high impacts. This is available both as a JBI Suspension Revalve and a JBI Suspension DIY Kit.

If you are interested in higher level performing forks the JBI Spec WP XACT Pro 6500 or the JBI Spec WP to KYB conversion is the alternative option. Compared to the stock forks these JBI Spec setups provide that "factory a-kit" feel which is even smoother over chatter bumps, even better hold during aggressive riding, and even better bottoming resistance during jumps and high impacts. Both of these options are available as a JBI Suspension Revalve Service and as a JBI Suspension DIY Kit


All of the above options will perform better than stock. At the end of the day, it just depends how much increased suspension performance you are wanting to achieve.

WP or KYB Spring Conversion?

  • Ride JBI has invested a lot of time into continuous ongoing development of WP and KYB Suspension setups on the KTM Group. Performing back to back testing, learning the shortcomings of each fork, and then improving those shortcomings has allowed Ride JBI to develop settings that make each fork feel similar with Kit level performance. This is how Ride JBI develops JBI Suspension Settings. 

    Which performs better? KYB vs WP? I understand the desired for an absolute answer but for this question it's hard for me to pick one. Both the JBI Spec WP and KYB forks perform very well and provide "kit" level performance. 

    We are not able to speak for other tuners or riders because many people only have experience with one of those fork types and fewer people have lots of experience with both fork types. This will often bias other peoples/riders/tuners answer on which fork type works better, usually choosing the fork they have the most time and experience with (which is totally understandable).

    The best answer I can provide is to go with your gut instinct and trust Ride JBI has developed great settings for the fork setup you choose. It is important to acknowledge the mental aspect of riding and trust your intuition. Ride JBI carries and offers both because both perform awesome. In my experience, previous Yamaha riders tend to favor the KYB kit on KTMs because that is what they are familiar with. And riders with good previous KTM / WP Kit suspension experiences tend to prefer the WP components.

What springs do I need for my bike?

What is the recommended service interval for suspension?

  • Recommended service interval for suspension is between 30-40 hours of ride time. If you are consistently riding in extreme conditions (think muddy/nasty conditions) we recommend to service your suspension closer to 30 hours of ride time.

What is your turn around time?

Our typical turnaround for a standard suspension revalve service time is consistent with 10-12 business days (this does not account for suspension coatings). If you decide to coat your suspension, typical turn around time is 6-7 weeks. A standard suspension service (not a revalve) is typically 6-7 business days. This is subject to change during peak season and special circumstances (custom builds, part shortages, etc).

Shipping

When will my order ship?

  • When your order will ship is dependent upon the product you purchased. Small orders for products that are in stock at Ride JBI HQ ship same day/next day (on average). If you purchased a product that is not in stock at Ride JBI, please allow us up to 7 business days to procure the part(s) from domestic manufacturers, and up to 4 weeks for international manufacturers.

    JBI Spec DIY Kits are custom build per order, please allow us up to 7 business days to build your DIY kit. This is subject to change during peak season and special circumstances (parts shortages, material shortages, etc).

How can I track my order?

  • Once your order is shipped, your order status will be updated to “Shipped.” There you will find the tracking number for your order and be able to watch the progress of your package making its way to you.

  • At this time, we do not offer any expedited services. We operate as a first come, first serve business, and hold as strong as we can to that standard. 

Can I edit my order after it is placed?

How can I cancel/return/warranty my order?

  • Warranty
    1. Express Warranty. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty and in lieu of any other (if any) express warranties, Ride JBI warrants that under normal use and service, on the date of acquisition as shown on Your receipt or similar proof of payment and for the next 90 days, that the product purchased will free from defects in material and workmanship. As to any defects discovered after the Warranty Period, there is no warranty or condition of any kind. Purchaser is not rely upon any representation, statement, or other assertion with respect to nature or quality of products and acknowledges all products are for off-road use only.

    This Limited Warranty does not cover, and no warranty of any kind is provided with respect to any subjective or aesthetic aspects of the product. The express warranty stated above is the only express warranty made to You and is provided in lieu of all other express or implied warranties and conditions (except for any non-disclaimable implied warranties that exist), including any created by any other documentation or packaging. No information or suggestions (oral or in a record) given by Ride JBI, its agents, affiliates or suppliers or its or their employees or agents, shall create a warranty or condition or expand the scope of this Limited Warranty.

    2. EXCLUSIVE REMEDY. Subject to applicable law and the following, and provided that You return the Ride JBI Product to Your place of acquisition (or, if that place will not accept the return, to Ride JBI) with a copy of Your receipt or other bona fide proof of payment during the Warranty Period, Ride JBI will, at its option and as Your exclusive remedy for breach of this Limited Warranty and any implied warranties:

    Repair or replace all or part of the defective Product.

    The above remedy is subject to the following:

    Any repaired or replaced Product will be new or refurbished or serviceably used, comparable in function and performance to the original Product;

    Any Product repaired or replaced under this Limited Warranty will be warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or 30 days from the date of shipment of the item back to You, whichever is longer.

    Costs associated with transport (including packaging) for warranty service shall be at Your expense; and

    Ride JBI does not provide any warranties regarding any other services provided under this Limited Warranty and disclaims all duties (if any) of workmanlike effort or of lack of negligence regarding such services.

    3. EXCLUSION OF OTHER DAMAGES. TO THE FULL EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, RIDE JBI AND ITS SUPPLIERS, AFFILIATES AND AGENTS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY:

    (i) CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES;

    (ii) DAMAGES OR LOSS OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER RELATING TO LOST PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF PRIVACY OR CONFIDENTIALITY, ANY INABILITY TO USE ALL OR PART OF THE PRODUCT/ DEVICE OR, PERSONAL INJURY, OR ANY FAILURE TO MEET ANY DUTY (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY DUTY OF NEGLIGENCE, GOOD FAITH OR OF WORKMANLIKE EFFORT); OR

    (iii) INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THE PRODUCT. ARSING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE, USE, FAILURE OR PERFORMANCE OF THE PRODUCT

    THE FOREGOING APPLIES EVEN IF RIDE JBI OR ANY SUPPLIER, AFFILIATE OR AGENT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSSES OR DAMAGES; AND EVEN IN THE EVENT OF FAULT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT OR PRODUCT LIABILITY, MISREPRESENTATION OR OTHER REASON.

    4. EXCLUSIONS FROM COVERAGE. This Limited Warranty shall not apply and Ride JBI has no liability under this Limited Warranty if the Product:
  • is used for commercial purposes (including rental or lease);
  • is modified or tampered with;
  • is damaged by Acts of God, misuse, abuse, negligence, accident, wear and tear, mishandling, misapplication, or other causes unrelated to defects in product;
  • is damaged during shipments;
  • is not used in accordance with the accompanying documentation and use instructions; or
  • is repaired, modified or altered.

Instructions for Returns, Exchanges & Refunds

Please follow the instructions below to return the item.

1. Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
Call 1-480-269-5585 to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Unfortunately, we cannot accept returned merchandise without an RMA.

2. Returns
All returns must be in new condition and include all original manufacturers packaging. Returns must be received by Ride JBI within 15 days of the RMA issue date. Ride JBI is not responsible for any damage or loss of returned packages and we suggest that you insure the returned package through the carrier. Always insure your return package for the full retail value of the item and obtain a tracking number from your chosen shipper. Unfortunately, we cannot process refunds on damaged items; damaged items will be returned to the customer via ground shipping.

3. Refunds
If the purchased product issue eligible for a refund, the refund payment process will be as follows:
Payment by cash, the refund will be cash or check at the customer’s discretion in the amount of the purchase
Payment by credit, the card used for payment will be credited back the amount of the purchase.
Payment by check. There is a 15 working day working wait before a check will prepared and mailed out.

4. Return Shipping Methods
Please do not return any items via COD; our shipping department cannot accept COD returns.

5. Return Shipping Costs
Return shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the customer.
