Product Description

Kawasaki has officially brought back the "F" to its flagship four-stroke designation, making the 2027 Kawasaki KX450F a heavily revised machine compared to the previous two model years. This iteration directly addresses rider feedback from the 2024–2026 generation by injecting more aggression into the engine and increasing stability in the chassis.

The major upgrades split across the bike's engine, chassis, and electronics present a more race-ready package.

 Engine & Performance Updates

While keeping the core liquid-cooled, DOHC 449cc single-cylinder architecture, Kawasaki focused heavily on giving the bike a more aggressive power delivery.

  • Revised Intake & Exhaust: Reconfigured intake pathways, a redesigned exhaust system, and optimized fuel injection (FI) settings provide a much-needed punch.

  • Mid-to-High RPM Hit: While the prior generation was praised for being smooth but criticized for feeling a bit too polite or mellow, the 2027 engine delivers a noticeably sharper throttle response and stronger pull from the mid-range all the way to top-end over-rev.

  • Hydraulic Clutch: It retains the light-pull coned disc-spring hydraulic clutch setup, maintaining a consistent feel even under heavy racing conditions.

 Next-Gen Chassis & Handling

The 2027 model rolls out a brand-new generation of Kawasaki's aluminum perimeter frame designed to alter the bike's footprint on the track.

  • New Swingarm & Longer Wheelbase: The redesigned frame is paired with a revised swingarm that stretches out the wheelbase. This geometric shift yields greater high-speed stability and significantly increases rear-wheel traction when driving hard out of rough, chopped-up corners.

  • Showa Suspension Retuned: Showa 49mm coil-spring front forks and the Uni-Trak rear shock return but feature entirely optimized, stiffer damping specs to complement the new, more rigid chassis balance.

  • Full Brembo Brakes: Kawasaki has dropped the mixed-brand components of the past. The 2027 model goes all-in with a premium full Brembo system front and rear (including calipers, master cylinders, and steel-braided lines) for razor-sharp, progressive stopping power.

 Tech, Ergonomics, & Styling

[Handlebar Switch] ──> Selects Power Maps & KTRC

└──> Fine-tuned via RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX™2 (Smartphone)
  • Advanced Smartphone Tuning: The bike introduces the updated RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX™2. The smartphone interface allows for more intuitive, granular engine remapping, customizable Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), and an updated Launch Control mode that features a rev-limit control function to maximize gate drops.

  • Slimmer Bodywork: The plastics, shrouds, and seat have been redesigned to create a narrower, more seamless profile. This minimalist design language allows the rider to slide forward and back with less obstruction.

  • Ergo-Fit Adjustability: It maintains Kawasaki's highly praised physical adjustability, offering four distinct handlebar positions and two footpeg height options to customize the rider triangle.

  • Fresh Aesthetics: The iconic Lime Green look is updated with sharper, modern graphics accented with dark blue hits.

 The Cross-Country Sibling: 2027 KX450FX

For off-road, GNCC, and desert racers, the KX450FX model receives all of the core engine, chassis, and Brembo brake updates of the motocross bike, but adds specific cross-country adaptations:

  • Re-valved, softer off-road specific suspension.

  • A translucent resin fuel tank to easily eyeball fuel levels mid-race.

  • Sleeker, wrap-around handguards and a redesigned, full-coverage skid plate featuring an integrated rear suspension linkage guard.

  • A streamlined side stand and an 18-inch rear wheel setup.
