Shock Spring Rate Recommendations
- The 2026 Desmo450 Factory MX stock shock spring rate is 46N with a spring length of 245mm
- The Showa Mono Shock features a 16mm shock shaft with 50mm main piston
- The Desmo450 MX Factory Shock is very similar to the shock found on the 2024-2026 Kawasaki KX450 and 2025-2026 Kawasaki KX250
- The spring rates listed below for the Showa Mono Shock are applicable to the stock Desmo450 MX Linkage. If you have an aftermarket Desmo450 MX Linkage, please contact the linkage manufacturer for correct spring rate information, as the linkage ratio may require a different spring rate.
- Through testing and tuning Ducati's motocross bike, Ride JBI Athletes and test riders collectively agreed to decrease the shock spring rate by an additional -0.2N to achieve the ideal ride height as the bike is in motion. For instance, riders who are 155lbs in casual clothes, would drop the stock 46N shock spring rate to a 42N. This bypasses the 44N shock spring rate, which was also tested by JBI Athletes and test riders.
