These KYB forks feature an 8mm post at the compression valve instead of the more common smaller 6mm post. The midvalve is still 28mm in diameter (Yamaha YZF use a 29mm) and has the KYB Leaf Spring design. The KYB free piston is updated with a stronger design and vent port which should elimate any breaking or cracking during normal use. Fast pro riders like these forks. Amateur and vet riders often find the stock forks a bit too firm and not comfortable to ride.
