Product Description

MXT TAC-R Fork Cap (Showa TAC Fork Upgrade)

  • MXT TAC-R fork cap introduces an additional high pressure air chamber inside the Showa TAC Air Cartridge
  • The addition of a compensating high pressure volume above the main pressure region results in a smoother pressure rise (less progressive) as the fork compresses
  • This is achieved by having a "floating piston" separate the main pressure region and the new high pressure region
  • As the pressure inside the main pressure region begins to increase during fork compression, near the mid stroke point of fork travel the main pressure region psi rises above the new high pressure regions psi thus moving the "floating piston" creating additional volume for the main pressure region (Slowing down the hyper progressive nature of the fork)
  • Near the end of the fork stroke the floating piston stops moving (creating additional volume) resulting in a dramatic pressure increase which is perfect for excellent bottoming control
  • Allows for tuning of balance spring pressure via o-ring volume management
  • Select from the Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki models listed above
  • Motocross, Supercross, Arenacross, Enduro, Off-Road, GNCC, FreeRiding
  • Comes with MXT Bones Air Valve for filling/checking air pressure

The Result
By dividing the air compression region of Showa TAC fork into two regions that adjust volume via pressure allows for a less progressive air pressure build up through the forks travel until the very end when its needed.  A smoother increase in air pressure build up provides a similar feel to metal coil fork spring without the addition of the weight or rubbing friction associated with a fork spring.  Essentially this is how WP and Showa should have designed their air forks.
