KYB PSF Fork Specs

  • Pressurized air replaces main spring and pressure spring therefore decreasing weight and friction
    • A change of 2 PSI is similar to 1 spring rate change such as .44kg/mm to .45kg/mm
    • Target weight range is 170-190lbs
    • Balance spring is 3.2N (Other rates to be available for riders outside target weight range)
  • Midvalve piston diameter increased to 32mm (same diameter as compression piston)
    • Midvalve piston is old KYB two port and two piece design
    • Midvalve has large bleed holes and float amount
  • Larger diameter bottoming cone for improved bottoming control
  • 2 pounds lighter than previous spring forks
  • 2013 Honda CRF450 & Kawasaki KX450F Individual Specs coming soon

 

KYB PSF Fork Tips
  • Quality forks seals are now more important than before (OEM or SKF)
    • Do not use the "09" KYB spec fork seal that does not have spring around outer seal lip
  • Check air pressure before each ride (Especially during temperature changes)
  • Do NOT use digital pressure gauges
  • Outer chamber fork oil quantity can be adjusted to alter fork progressiveness
